The second batch of capacity-building training is being provided to EDR leaders

October 13, 2023 (EDR): Training to enhance the capabilities of chiefs and senior managers of Ethio-Djibouti Railway Transport s.c. (EDR) is being provided at Tianjin Railway Technical and Vocational College in China.

Speaking at the launch of the training programmed, Abdi Zenebe (Dr.), Chief Executive Officer of Ethio-Djibouti Railway Transport s.c., said that because the railway transport sector is constantly developing with technology and introducing new knowledge, it is important to prepare training that fits the development. Countries should continually develop their railway transport industry, invent new ways, and apply them based on the knowledge that they gain.

CEO Abdi Zenebe (Dr.) added that the training will strongly support EDR’s efforts to increase productivity and service quality.

He also praised the Chinese government for its crucial role in encouraging new knowledge in the railway sector.

The good role that Tianjin Railway Technical and Vocational College is playing in this area is particularly commendable.

The training offered to Ethio-Djibouti Railway Transport chiefs and senior officials in the first round of capacity development training was highly successful, Dr. Abdi Zenebe added. Similarly, we will strive tirelessly to raise the level of Ethio-Djibouti Railway Transport’s work activity by incorporating new information and methods learned in the second round of training.

Officials from Tianjin Railway Technical and Vocational College stated that the trainees will obtain sufficient skills throughout their stay and expressed confidence that their training session in China will be fruitful.

According to the information acquired from the location, the training would take one month.
