Ethio-Djibouti Railway launched the operation of the Sebeta Railway Station.

December 21, 2023 (EDR), the formal launch and operation of the Sebeta railway station’s Ethio-Djibouti Railway S.C.

Chief Executive Officer of the Ethiopian-Djibouti Railway, Abdi Zenebe (PhD), State for Transport and Logistics H.E. Denge Boru, and representatives of the city of Sheger were present at the program’s opening.

According to H.E. state minister Ato Denge Boru, railway transit has significantly increased national spending and earnings. Additionally, he made note of the fact that it is significantly contributing to the country’s soil fertilizer imports, ensuring that farmers have timely access to it. He added that the opening of the railway station in Sheger City Administration’s Sebeta Sub-city will boost the local economy and social scene.

Twenty train stations in various cities in Ethiopia and Djibouti, along with additional stations being opened, according to Abdi Zenebe (PhD), CEO of Ethio-Djibouti Railway s.c. And he also said that the opening of the Sebeta railway station will have a major impact on the number of jobs that will be created in Shger, the new city.

The Ethio-Djibouti Railway, which is owned by the governments of Ethiopia and Djibouti, transports a significant volume of goods and passengers, fostering social and economic exchange between the two nations.
