    Ethio Djibouti Railway and Dire Dawa – Dewole Subway Company will continue to strengthen their cooperation in knowledge transfer.

    April 29, 2016 (EDR): This was disclosed during a consultation with Ayele Woldejohn, CEO of Ethio Djibouti Railway, Abdi Zebebe (PhD), General Manager of Dire Dawa Dewole Subway Company. CEO Abdi Zenabe (PhD) said at this time that the Dire Dawa-Belle Railway Company, which has a century-long history, shares its experience and capabilities and efforts to modernize the railway sector is admirable. The transfer of knowledge with Ethio Djibouti Railway (ADR) on the maintenance of railway infrastructure will enhance the capacity of the two institutions, added CEO Abdi Zenabe (PhD). He stressed the need for the company to use its energy resources and maintenance center capacity more together. “We will continue to strengthen our multifaceted relationship by facilitating capacity building trainings and continuous knowledge transfer,” he said. Dire Dawa Belle subway manager Ayele Woldejohn, who recalled that senior officials of Dire Dawa Dewole Subway visited the entire operation, including EDR’s Mentenance and Locomotive Center. “It is a great privilege for us to be able to work together, recognizing the potential to carry out the construction and maintenance of the railway,” he said. The General Manager of the organization, Abdi Zenabe (PhD), who briefed on the historical background of the Dire Dawa-Belle Railway Organization, presented a historic gift commemorating this. The two leaders discussed the challenges and challenges of the sector extensively and set out the next directions.

      April 26, 2016 (EDR): Ethiopian Djibouti Railway CEO Abdi Zenebe (PhD) congratulated all Christians on the Resurrection  holiday.

      I sincerely hope that the festival will be peaceful and peaceful. In his message, Chief Executive Officer Abdi Zenebe (PhD) wished a happy holiday to our institution’s Christian faith followers, our dear customers, members of the railway division of the Federal Police, the regions and city government through which the railway line passes.

      May all of you who serve in various fields of Christian faith in Ethiopia’s Djibouti train have peace and health.

      I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your tireless depletion of knowledge and energy day in and day out, along with the entire EDR staff for your contribution to the success of our institution.

        The 15th of Afar Sultan Ahmed Alimirah, discussed with CEO Abdi Zeneb (PhD)

        April 28, 2024 (EDR): The 15th Sultan of Afar, Ahmed Alimirah, had a fruitful discussion with the CEO of the Ethio-Djibouti Railway, Abdi Zenebe (PhD). During their discussion, CEO Abdi Zenebe (PhD) explained the services that the Ethio-Djibouti railway provides. 

        CEO Abdi explained that the railway begins its trips from Sheger city administration’s Sabata train station and passes through four regions and two cities in Ethiopia to reach Djibouti. In this regard, CEO Abdi expresses his great appreciation to the Afar National Regional Government and the people for their contribution.

        The railway is playing a great role in benefiting citizens and creating ample job opportunities, CEO Abdi Zenebe (PhD), added.

        In addition, the CEO mentioned the contribution of EDR to strengthening the long-standing friendship between Ethiopia and Djibouti.

        In addition to providing cargo and passenger transportation services, EDR is fulfilling social responsibility to increase the benefits of citizens. 

        In this regard, Chief Executive Abdi Zenebe (PhD) mentioned that a wide effort is being made to approach the citizens by carrying out activities that benefit the community, such as school construction, clean drinking water wells, and community pastoralists.

        Finally, CEO Abdi Zenebe (PhD) extended an invitation to Sultan Ahmed Alimirah to visit the headquarters of Ethio Djibouti Railway.

        The 15th Sultan of Afar, Ahmed Alimirah, thanked for the presentation and the invitation to visit and said that the effort to provide effective service by maintaining the railway line together is admirable.

        The people of Afar will continue to protect and maintain the line with a sense of ownership, Sultan Ahmed Alimirah added. 

        It is remembered that Afar Sultan Ahmed Alimirah entered Ethiopia after staying abroad.
